In the death of Hugh Nolan Lambert, marks the loss of one of the greats of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. He was a farmer and could take a rough and rocky hillside and make it produce abundance. He served as the Government Farmer for the Indian Bureau at Cherokee for several years. Much of the farming know-how of the Cherokee Indians can be credited to his work at the Cherokee School. He was a God-loving and God-fearing man.
