John Cephas Mason, 99, of Martinsville, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
He was born in Franklin County on Oct. 21, 1908, to Beverly Davis Mason and Mary Brown Mason. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Pearl Ramsey Mason; four sisters, Brooksie Boaz, Estelle Tuggle, Myrtle Wiggington and Allison Joyce; and three brothers, Buford Mason, Paul Mason and Noland Mason.
He retired from Pulaski Furniture and was a member of Chatham Heights Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy M. Ingram of Martinsville; a son, John T. Mason of Danville; a sister, Lois Trull of Martinsville; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Chatham Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Mike Hatfield officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park.
