Martha I. Spivey, 74, of Eaton, died Wednesday evening, Feb. 11, at Grandview Hospital in Dayton after an extended illness. Born Feb. 18, 1923, in Preble County, where she lived most of her life, she was the daughter of Roy and Emma (Smith) Mattix. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. Spivey, in September 1988; and a son, Jim Baker, in 1994.

Survivors include one son, Donald Baker of Eaton; two sisters, Ethel Coning of Eaton and Zelma Dull of Gratis; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 14, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, with the Rev. Jeff Hill officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton Emergency Squad.
