Babe was one of eight children born to Henry and Jane Eubank. Babe attended schools in Glazier and Canadian, graduating from Canadian High School. She went to Wichita, Kansas, to take nursing training at the Wichita Hospital School of Nursing. After graduating from nursing school in 1923, Babe took a post-graduate course in anesthesia at a Detroit, Michigan hospital. She worked for a time as an anesthetist before going into private duty nursing, working in New Mexico and Texas. For twelve years she was a private duty nurse in Amarillo.
Babe enjoyed dancing when she was young, but had no hobbies other than her work. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Babe lost two brothers in the tornado which hit Glazier. She has one sister living, Mrs C. C. Freeman of Canadian and a cousin, Doris Bourassa.
