Leonard Walter Wiernusz was the son of Michael Andrew Wiernusz and his first wife Franciszka Rokosz Wiernusz. Both his parents were born in Poland. His mother died in Wilkes-Barre in 1931 so Leonard would have just been a small boy at that time. I believe his father was left with 5 or 6 small children following their mother's death.
