Funeral Services Tuesday For Mrs. Florence Kelley; Who Died Monday Morning
Mrs. Florence May Kelley, 88, of Edina, died at 12:01 o'clock Monday morning, Oct. 13, 1969, at the Gibson Hospital here where she had been a patient the last five months. She was a lifelong resident of Edina and the widow of John Kelley, who died March 5, 1965.
Funeral services were at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel here with the Rev. Barbara Barnett, pastor of the United Methodist Church, of which Mrs. Kelley was a member, officiating. Burial was in the Linville Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, John B. Kelley of Columbia and Charles R. Kelley of Edina and a granddaughter, Joyce, Mrs. Louie Le Doux, of St. Louis.
Mrs. Kelley was born June 29, 1881, south of Edina, a daughter of Charles and Mary Catherine Boise (sic) Parcell. She and Mr. Kelley were married April 23, 1901, in Edina, and went to their ready-furnished home in the east part of town where they spent almost 64 years of married life and where Mrs. Kelley continued to make her home until hospitalized. They were parents of three sons, those mentioned above and James William, who died in infancy. Mrs. Kelley was a member of the Woman's Society of Christian Service of the United Methodist Church and the Edina Garden Club and After Supper Extension Club.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mrs. Annie Porter, and a brother, E. R. Parcell.
