Obituary: Minnie M. Klemish, the daughter of Herman and Anna Hoffman Plate, was born southeast of Anita, Iowa and died at the Exira Care Center in Exira, Iowa at the age of 99 years, 7 months and 7 days.

She was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Brayton, Iowa. she attended the Railroad School east of Anita, Iowa, and then worked as a housekeeper for several families.

On September 10, 1913 she was united in marriage to Joseph Thomas Klemish at her parents' home by Rev. P.A. Rickel. Five children were born to this union: Elsie, Leon, Floyd, Eugene, and Thelma. They farmed north of Anita in Audubon County. They moved into Exira, Iowa for a short time, then moved to Brayton. Joseph died on April 15, 1954. Minnie then maintained her own home until she became a resident of the Exira Care Center on December 8, 1982.

Minnie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brayton. she sang in the church choir, attended Sunday School and Bible Study and was a member of the Women's Missionary Fellowship.

Preceding her in death in addition to her husband wer her children: Elsie Akers on July 28, 1978 and her husband, Frank on February 7, 1975; Leon Klemish on June 16, 1984; Floyd Klemish on March 17, 1983 and his wife, Alice on March 25, 1980; her parents; her sister, Edith Plate on August 27, 1968; and her son-in-law, Willard Pittman on April 1, 1988.

Survivors include her children and their spouses; Eugene and Mildred Klemish of Exira, Iowa; Thelma and Lloyd Lankford of Wickett, TX; her daughter-in-law, Georgia Klemish of Adair, IA; 18 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; her half-sister Maude Plate of Ames, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
