Obituary: Maude N. Plate, 99, a resident of the Northcrest Retirement Community in Ames, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2000, at Northcrest. Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thuesday, Feb. 1, at the Anita Evergreen Cemetery, Stevens Memorial Chapel of Ames was in charge of arrangements.
Miss Plate was born on a farm near Anita on Dec. 24, 1901. She also lived in Des Moines and spent most of her life in Ames. she was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church and Eastern Star, both in Ames.
She is survived by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Anna Plate; two half sisters, Edith Plate and Minnie Klemish; and a half brother, Ed Reimers.
