Missing Man's Body Is Discovered in River
EAST RAINELLE, Jan. 15 - The body of William Lester Walkup, 22, who had been missing from his home at Crawley since Jan. 6 was recovered at 11:45 a. m. Tuesday from the Meadow river near Charmco, Greenbrier county.
Justice of the Peace D. D. Haynes of East Rainelle conducted an inquest in which the jury attributed the victim's death to drowning.
Children playing on the river found the victim's hat, containing money and a note, and turned it over to troopers. Contents of the note were not divulged.
