Ruth was married to Russell B Hall and widowed at age 49 in 1968. She then returned to school, earned her high school diploma and finished business college, went to work and lived independently. In later years, she spent winters in Florida with her brothers. At age 80, she and a lady friend drove across the country to California, and later vacationed in Hawaii.
