Edward Montgomery "Monty" Fore, Sr, 88, was born in Olney, Texas. He was raised in Graham, Texas by his grandmother, Ella Bell Fore.
Ed served in the U. S. Army Signal Corps in World War II as the American Army advanced from Normandy across France, Belgium and the Rhineland. He specialized in teletype and encription machines. He was awards the Bronze Star for using captured French and German equipment, and improvising with American equipment to help provide the only teletype communications to England during the early stages of the invasion. The citation referred to "...his outstanding initiative, ingenuity, resoucefulness and technical skills."
Ed moved to Fort Worth, Texas in 1952 to be near his work at Convair - General Dynamics, where he stared as an electrician, then worked as an engineer. He enjoyed 33 years there and loved his association with his co-workers.
Ed was a member of West Worth Church of Christ and later Western Hills Church of Christ. He lived his Christianity and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He set an example of graciousness and goodness to those who knew him.
Ed's sisters - Lena Bell Fore and Murnell Clark preceded him in death.
Survived by his wife; one sister ; one brother; two sons; cousins, nieces and nephews.
