Virginia Ethel Hopwood was born October 18, 1884 in Texas to Willis Marshall Hopwood and Virginia McClain. Virginia McClain died of TB when Virginia E. was three or four years old. After the death of her father, she was raised by the Chappell family. When she was 15 in 1900 and living in the home of Allen and Charity Chappell in Alvord, Wise, Texas. Allen Chappell was 56 and his wife, Charity was 54. The Chappell's also had another boarder, P.H. Siever, age 41. Virginia was married November 20, 1901 in Alvord, Texas to George William Pittman. Born to their union were 12 children. Children not yet connected are
