Married Eleanor Barry on 13 Mar 1807. Solomon Sanford cleared a farm on the shore of Lake Ontario near a town called Lyme. He later sold out in 1821 and moved to Canada where he settled there until he embraced the Gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1837 he started for the state of Missouri. Then after his expulsion from Missouri, Solomon Sanford settled in Pike County Illinois and remained until the expulsion of the Saints from Nauvoo. In the fall of 1846 he came to the camp of the Saints called Winter Quarters and as provisions were scarce and a cold winter at hand, he went back to Pike County where he remained till the day of his death. Solomon Sanford died and was buried in Pittsfield, Pike, Illinois in the year 1847.
