Minnie K. Smith, daughter of Edward Joseph and Eunice Hosea Smith, was born on May 20, 1875, in Memphis, Indiana. Her parents also worked a farm in Oldham County, Kentucky, during her early childhood. Minnie's mother died in complications of childbirth, in 1883. Minnie married Jacob Philip Franck on April 8, 1898, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. They had at least six children in 14 years. She died on June 27, 1954, in Clarksville, Indiana, at the age of 79, and is buried next to her husband in Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
