"Lorain Cole, 87, of Coleman, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Clyde Nursing Center.

"Graveside funeral service will be held 10:00am Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with Bryan Stokes officiating. Interment will be in the Coleman Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

"Family visitation will be held on Friday, April 17 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan, Coleman, Texas.

"Lorain Cole was born June 29, 1921 in Coleman, a daughter of Oscar and Birdie Fleming Barnett. She grew up in Coleman where she attended school. On December 24, 1945 she married William Scott Cole in Coleman and he preceded her in death on January 13, 2003. She was a life-long resident of Coleman, a homemaker, and a member of the Church of Christ.

"Survivors include one daughter, Pat Balch and husband Gilbert of Baird; three grandchildren, Majetta Stokes of Hawley, Tiffany Rutherford of Lockhart and William Cole of San Angelo; four great-grandchildren, Olyvia Jackson, Trevor Jackson, Hank Stokes, Sally Stokes; daughter-in-law, Liz Cole of San Angelo; nieces and nephews.

"In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Gary Cole on June 26, 2007; brothers and sisters, Artie Barnett, Alonzo Barnett, Bill Barnett, Josie Smith, Edora Crye.

"Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, P. O. Box 785, Coleman, Texas 76834 or Cowboy Heritage Church, Hayes Road, Clyde, Texas 79510."
