Funeral services were held Saturday, May 18, from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Milford for Esther Owens, 76, who died May 15 in Hilltop Nursing Home west of Spirit Lake, Father O.W. Koester officiated.
Miss Owes, daughter of Dennis and Hattie Owens, was born March 14, 1892. She received her education in the Dickinson County Schools and for several years taught in the Excelsior and Westport Country Schools. The past several years she has resided at Milford and Spirit Lake,
Preceding her in death were her parents, three sisters, and five brothers. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives attending services were Mr. and Mrs. John Ottele, of Wheaton, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Matt Conlon, Robert Conlon, Tom Conlon, Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Elbert all of Emmetsburg, Mrs. Clifford Owens of Alton Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Miller of Round Lake, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Louis Metz and Marvin Owens of Adrian, Minn., Mrs. Florence Riley of Lakefield, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Leon Owens, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Delaney, Pat Delaney and Terry Delaney all of Lake Park, Mr. and Mrs. Arley Reed of Spirit Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. Francis Delaney and Miss Nellie Delaney of Milford.
