D. Owens, Esq., of Westport township, received a telegram last Thursday announcing the sudden death of his son, Dennis, a young man of 24 years residing in Castleton, Stark Co., Ill. Mr. Owens left the same night on the B.C.R. & N., and arrived in time to look upon the face of his dead boy before he was consigned to his resting place. This was a sad blow for the doating father to be thus bereaved without a word of warning that the young man was ill. He had been ailing for only about two weeks, and though medical ----- was at hand yet ---------- [remainder torn off.] (Milford Mail, Milford, IA, January 24, 1889).
