Esteemed Westport Citizen Passes to the Better World Beyond
Arthur C. Owens died at 5 o’clock Wednesday morning, Feb. 6, at his home in Westport township nine miles west of Milford, after a week’s illness of pneumonia. He was a son of Dennis Owens, a prominent early settler, and was born on Aug. 14, 1890, his age at his death being 38 years, 5 months and 21 days.

He was educated in the rural schools and then engaged in farming, in which he was very successful, being industrious and capable, and was held in sincere regard by all who knew him as an upright man and a good neighbor and citizen. He was unmarried and he and his sister resided on the Owens home farm which they owned.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9, with services at 10 a.m. conducted by Rev. E. C. Meyers in St. Joseph’s church.
