Anna was the widow of the late Fred Ropiequet, to whom she was married October 13, 1859, and who died 1895. Her husband served as sheriff of this county and also as mayor of this city.
She is survived by eight children, as follows: Otto Ropiequet, Detroit, Mich.; Hugo J. Ropiequet, Denver, Col.; Mrs. Erna Goedde, East St. Louis, Ill.; Mrs. Clara R. Jones, Humbolt, Tenn.; Mrs. George Hilgard, R. W. Ropiequet, Miss Bertha Ropiequet and Mrs. Lulu E. Wise all in Belleville.
She also leaves 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, besides her brothers, Edward H. Wangelin, Walter H. Wangelin, St. Louis; Otto H. Wangelin, Boulder Col.; Ivan H. Wangelin, Belleville, and sister Miss Louise Wangelin in St. Louis.
She was one of the founders of the Needle Guild, was a charter member of the Old Kindergarten Association and belonged to the First Methodist Church. The funeral will be Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock to the Walnut Hill Cemetery.
