She was the daughter of Charles and Ann Crutchfield. She married Jordan Carpenter on January 5, 1880 in Smith County, Tennessee and from that union, 3 sons were born. She moved to Nashville Tennessee from Smith County Tennessee for some time and by 1903 she had moved to Indianapolis Indiana.
