WALTER NORRIS, AGED 87, DIES IN RANDOLPH HOME

EVANSTON, Wyo., June 29-Walter Norris, 87, oldest resident of Randolph, Utah, both in age and in years of continuous residence, died at his home shortley after ten o'clock Tuesday evening. Mr. Norris was born in England Feb, 17, 1846. In early life he came to this counrty and crossed the plains with an ox team at the age of 14. He was married to Rose Hannah Parker in the old endowment house in Salt Lake City 63 years ago and the following year they located in Randolph. Mr. Norris and his brothers Hyrum J. Norris and Reuben Norris were among the original settlers of Randolph. From early life on Mr. Norris was a devoted member of the L.D.S. church. At the time of his death he was a member of the Woodruff stake high priest quorum.
Surviving are his wife and the following ten children: Walter Norris, Jr., Thomas J. Norris, Mrs. Emeline Kiddy, and Arthur Norris all of Randolph; Mrs. Elizabeth Houser, Trenton, Utah; Mrs. Mary Ann Barton, Elko, Nevada; Mrs. Agnes Brooker, Garden City; Reuben Norris, Pocatello; John W. Norris, Ogden; Mrs. Livinia Portela, Afton, Wyoming, also by 42 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in the Randolph ward chapel at two o'clock Friday afternoon with Bishop Lawrence Johnson Officiating.
