Denton died Sunday at Richland Parish Hospital in Delhi after a brief illness.
Mr. Denton was a native of Richland Parish and a retired cattleman.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Julia Denton of Delhi; five sons, Don Denton of Ruleville, Miss., Gordon Denton of Greenwood, Miss., Kenneth Denton of Scoaba, Miss., Wayne Denton of Ohio, and Herman Neal Denton of Delhi; three daughters, Mrs. Doris Dew of Vicksburg, Miss., Mrs. Julia Mitchell of Sidon, Miss., and Mrs. Mary Buck of Theba, Miss.
Pallbearers will be Aron Hebert, George Pylant Jr., Earl Grayson, Michael Porter, J. D. Porter and Billy Hebert.
