Gordon Lee Denton

Gordon Lee Denton, 40, a Dallas truck driver died suddenly Monday, May 9 1988, of a heart attack at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jimmie P. Denton of Dallas, formerly of Vaiden, two daughters, Miss Tammy Denton and Miss Stacy Denton, both of Dallas, three sisters, Mrs. Mary Buck of West Point, Mrs. Doris Dew of Vicksburg and Mrs. Julie Mitchell of Greenwood, five brothers, A.J. Welch of Sterlington, La., Kenneth Denton of Scooba, Wayne Denton of Bay Pines, Fla., Neil Denton of Florence, Ore. and Don Denton of Greenwood, and one grandchild.

He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Vicksburg. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps.

Memorial services were conducted from Oliver Funeral Home chapel at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 11. The Rev. Larry Edwards preached. Burial was in Winona Gardens of Memory.

Pallbearers were Bill Pruett, Harry Hilmus, Perry Devine, Thomas Bailey, Wesley Bailey and Clayton Hightower. Oliver Funeral Home handled arrangements.
