Herod L Overturf

LAKE WENATCHEE - Herod L. Overturf, 78, of Lake Wenatchee, and a life-time resident of the Central Washington area, died in a local nursing home Friday, following an extended illness.

Born on Badger Mountain June 12, 1891, he had lived there and in the Waterville area until 1955 when he moved to Lake Wenatchee.

On April 7, 1941, he married Edith M. Anderson in Wenatchee.

Mr. Overturf was a member of the Lake Wenatchee Grange 1013.

Surviving are: his widow; two sons, Eldridge Overturf, Sacramento, Calif., and Stanley Overturf, Lake Wenatchee; two daughters, Mrs. James Thrift, Wenatchee and Mrs. George Olson, Lakeside, Ore.; a step-son, Leslie Hoggatt, Prineville, Ore., and a step-daughter, Mrs. Irene Wise, Pateros; two sisters, Mrs. Leitha Coonan, Wenatchee and Mrs. Bertha Mahoney, Colville; 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

One brother preceded him in death.

Services are announced by the Jones & Jones Funeral Home.
