MRS. W. L. JENSEN DIES FUNERAL IS SATURDAY
Georgia Maughan Jensen, 69, died Tuesday night at the family home at Burton. She had been in poor health for several months and for the last month had been bedfast. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the 7th Ward LDS chapel. She is survived by her husband, Wilford Jensen.
Mrs. Jensen was born at Glendale, Preston, Idaho, April 24, 1890. She attended school at Preston and was a graduate of the old Oneida Stake Academy. After leaving she was employed as a bookkeeper at the Idaho State and Savings Bank of Preston.
SHE MARRIED Wilford Leo Jensen June 6, 1912 in the Salt Lake Temple and after living in Preston for two years they moved to St. Anthony. In 1916 the family moved to the Burton area to farm and have lived there until the present time.
She has always been active in community and church affairs. For 33 years she was a reporter for the Rexburg newspapers. She served as secretary in the Burton Ward Relief Society, Primary, MIA and Genealogical Society. She was also ward organist. For forty years she gave piano lessons. She was one of the organizers of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers in Burton.
SHE IS SURVIVED by her husband and eight children, Mrs. Lorin (Mildred) Johnson, Burton; Mrs. Cornelious (Juliet) Maathuis, Salt Lake City; Loy M. Jensen, Driggs; Heber M. Jensen, Burton; Quincy M. Jensen, Idaho Falls; Grey M. Jensen, Lewiston; Stanley M. Jensen, San Francisco; and Zola V. Jensen, Brigham City. Two children, Loa and Dewey, preceeded her in death. Two sisters, Mrs. Della Chadwick and Alta Palmer, Preston, also survive, and twenty-four grandchildren.
BURIAL WILL be in the Burton cemetery. The body will be in the Relief Society Room from 10 a.m. until time of service. Flamm Mortuary is in charge of the burial.
