She was the widow of the late Melvin A. Hoover, who died January 10, 2013.
Born Thursday, August 22, 1929, in Hamburg, she was a daughter of the late Paul W. & Sallie A. (née Hoch) Oxenreiter.
A graduate of Robesonia High School, she was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Womelsdorf. Jean delivered Meals-On-Wheels for 20+ years, was a faithful volunteer at Phoebe Chapel & Healthcare Center, plus founded & coordinated the Womelsdorf Fire Co.Senior Bowling league. Jean loved to play any card game; take annual Bahama vacations; cheer on the Phillies & Sixers; watch & play golf; travel with the Marion Seniors; and listen to golden oldies music.
She is survived by her children:
Diane L. Shoaff & Joanne L. (Keith) Baker;
her Grandchildren: Brian S. (Lauren) Baker, Janessa L. Baker, Keith A. (Peggy) Mogel, Brandon L. Shoaff, Cassandra L. Shoaff, & Rebecca J. (Ryan) Valerio;
and 10 Great-Grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her siblings: Ethel Sweigart, Deborah Keppley, Dorothy Hippert, Mark Oxenreiter, Sarajane Trout, Richard Oxenreiter & Harold Oxenreiter.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, July 3, 2023, at 10 AM, with Funeral Services starting at 11 AM, at the Chapel of Phoebe Berks Village, 1 Reading Dr., Wernersville, PA 19565, with the Rev. Mary Etta Mest, officiating. Burial will be in Womelsdorf Union Cemetery. An invitation is extended to join the family for a time of fellowship and refreshment following the service.
