Dorothy M. Hippert, 89, Myerstown, died June 16 in ECC Retirement Village, Albright Campus, where she resided since 1999. Her husband, Charles D. Hippert, died in 1974. Born Dec. 31, 1916, in Centre Township, Berks County, she was the daughter of the late Paul W. and Sallie A. (Hoch) Oxenreiter. Dorothy worked as a fullfashioned knitter for Nolde & Horst Mills, Womelsdorf, and also repaired electrical motors at Marco Industries, Womelsdorf. She was a member of Millcreek Lutheran Church, Newmanstown. Surviving are daughter Sandra, wife of John D. Leidich, Myerstown; and son Jay, husband of Karen Hippert, Murrell's Inlet, SC. There are five grandchildren, John C. Mark, Philip Leidich, Monica (Hippert) Finley, Jolene (Hippert) Moffitt; and 11 great-grandchildren. Other survivors are sisters Ethel (Oxenreiter), widow of Clair Sweigart, Leesport, Sarajane (Oxenreiter), wife of Richard Trout, Womelsdorf, and Jean (Oxenreiter), wife of Melvin Hoover, Womelsdorf; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by 15 month-old daughter Audrey Jane in 1937; brothers Mark Oxenreiter and Richard Oxenreiter; sister Debra Keppley. Service Wednesday at Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, Wernersville.
