On December 30, 1948, he was married to Sylvia Moore in the SpringHill Community of De Kalb, Texas. He was a business man, having worked in the Gasoline Distribution Industry. Clarence was a Methodist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth Calvit; a sister, Ava Nell Calvit Zapp; and two brothers, Joe Ross Calvit and Edwin Calvit.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Sylvia Moore Calvit; a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Dwayne Peace of Tyler, Texas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Rickey and Linda Calvit of Texarkana, Texas and Mark and Tracy Calvit of Gladewater, Texas; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at Bates Family Funeral Home in De Kalb, Texas with Robby Bates officiating. Interment will follow at Avery Cemetery in Avery, Texas.
