Dale William Watson, 72, of Amarillo, died Monday, Aug. 6, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born May 10, 1912, at Chillicothe and moved to Wellington with his family when he was 5 years of age. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. E.G. Watson who farmed many years one mile east of Wellington. They moved to Hereford in 1940. Dale Watson was married to Ruby Harmon in 1932. She preceded him in death August 22, 1970. In March 1972, he was married to Oma Lou Ziegler Coyle.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Billy Dale Watson of Happy; one daughter, Norma Joyce Bryant of Carlsbad, New Mexico; four step-sons: Jack Ziegler of Canyon, Gary Ziegler and Jim Ziegler both of Amarillo and Don Ziegler of Diamond Bar, Calif.; one brother, Ray Watson of Hereford and two sisters, Mrs. Chester (Edyce) Copeland of Amarillo and Mrs. Clyde (Juanita) Hall of Lubbock. Three brothers, Paul Watson, Carl Watson and Virgil Watson preceded him in death.
