Edice Opal Copeland, 79, of Amarillo died at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Westcliff Manor Nursing Home after an illness. She was born in Odell, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.O. Watson. She came to Wellington with her parents when she was very young. She moved to Amarillo in 1942. She was a homemaker and a member of San Jacinto Baptist Church. A son, Elvin C. Copeland, died in June, 1987. Five brothers preceded her in death: Carl Watson, Paul Watson, Virgil Watson, Dale Watson and Ray Watson. Survivors include her husband, J.C.; two daughters, Alice M. Addington of Ruidoso, N.M., and Carlene Sparkman of Edmond, Okla.; a sister, Juanita Hall of Lubbock; 10 grandchildren, and eight grandchildren.
