Tommy Dale Boothe, 73, of Carthage, passed away on Monday night, July 10, 2017, in Tyler. He was born on Oct. 7, 1943, in Snyder, TX to the late Merrill Vestal and Emily Kathryn Reeves Boothe. Mr. Boothe graduated from Snyder High School and attended Kilgore College. He served his country in the Texas National Guard. Tommy worked as a DPS officer for many years and later for Luminant mining. Mr. Boothe also worked as a self-employed safety instructor and later taught safety at Tyler Junior College. He married Dixie Susan Davis on Jan. 20, 1990, in Carthage. Tommy loved fishing, woodwork, and raising miniature horses. He was of the Church of Christ faith. Mr. Boothe was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Jean Jeffress Boothe; and brother, Powers Boothe.

Survivors include his wife, Dixie Davis Boothe of Carthage; sons, Tod Boothe and wife Deanna of Longview and David Bouchard of Arlington; daughters, Jada Beaver and husband Steve of Longview and Katie Bouchard of Carthage; brother, Riley Boothe and wife Linda of Carthage; sister-in-law, Pam Boothe of Hidden Hills, CA; grandchildren, Jannon Knight, Justin Boothe, Ethan Boothe, Ashton Beaver, Jordan Boothe, Colton Beaver, Chase Owen, and Christen Owen; and 6 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends also survive Mr. Boothe.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017, at Jimerson-Lipsey Funeral Home Chapel with Jackie Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
