George Henry Gatt was born on August 22, 1893, in Boston, Massachusetts, to James A and Mary "Minnie" F (Murphy) Gatt. His siblings were James Walter Gatt (1888-1918), Elizabeth Ann (Gatt) Gibbons (1889-1974), Leo Gerald Gatt (1890-1947), Grace Cecilia (Gatt) Powers (1892-1957), Jeremiah F Gatt (1895–1897), John Clarence Gatt (1896–1951), Paul V Gatt (1898–1901), Raphael B Gatt (1899–1904), and Charles Joseph Gatt (1902–1903).

His wife Loretta Anna (Gilgun) Gatt died earlier the same year on June 6, 1947. She is also buried at St Peter's Cemetery in Danbury, Connecticut.

From 1945 to his death in 1947 his residence was on Mill Plain Road (Route 202) in Danbury, Connecticut.

Danbury, Oct. 2 -- Services for George Henry Gatt, 54, of Mill Plain district, who died suddenly of a heart attack after his car had been involved in an accident on Lake avenue will take place Saturday at 9:15 a.m. in the Freeland funeral home, 91 West street and at 10 o'clock in St. Joseph's church. Burial will be in St. Peter's cemetery.
Mr. Gatt, a native of Boston, was a son of the late James and Mary Gatt and had lived here six years.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Gibbons, of Dorchester, Mass., and Mrs. John Powers, of Boston: and two brothers, John and Lawrence Gatt, both of Boston.
