James Polk Badgely, who took sick Thursday, Jan. 19, died Saturday evening at 6:00 of pneumonia. He was fifty-nine years of age. He leaves a wife and six children. The funeral was held Monday morning at 11:00, services conducted by Rev. W. E. Morris, burial in Greenlawn.

Death Came Suddenly
James K. Polk Badgely [sic] died suddenly at his home in east Franklin Saturday afternoon from heart failure brought on by a severe attack of pneumonia fever. He was a well-known character about town and was in town Thursday passing a subscription paper to raise money with which to purchase a new glass eye.
He was fifty-nine years of age and is survived by a wife and six children. He was twice married. The funeral was held from the late home on Monday morning at 11:00, short services being conducted by Rev. W. E. Morris. The remains were buried in Greenlawn cemetery.
