Francis Garland Petri was born on October 19, 1924 in Robstown, TX to Arthur and Magdaline Petri. He liked to fish, garden and was an amateur photographer, who captured many priceless family moments on his Brownie Hawkeye camera. Frank was a cook in the U.S. Army during WWII and served his country in India until he was honorably discharged in 1946. He later served the Pasadena Independent School District as a janitor for 18 years at San Jacinto Intermediate.

Frank was a confirmed bachelor until finally marrying the love of his life, Elsie Mae Johnson, at the age of 59. They were parted on July 27, 1999 when she passed away. A resident of Pasadena since the 1970's, Frank was an easy-going man who loved his country music and spending time with friends. He was a longtime member of Richey Street Baptist Church in Pasadena, which he faithfully attended each Sunday with his brother-in-law, Joe Waller.

Frank died on August 1, 2012 at home after a brief illness, and his suffering is no more. He was lovingly attended by his niece Sandi, with help from his good friend Maria and nurses who lent their valuable support. Frank was preceded in death by his mother, father and younger sister, Hazel. He is survived by two brothers, John and Charlie, and many other adoring family members and friends. Funeral Services will be held at Grand View Funeral Home on Saturday, August 4th at 12:30pm.

Beloved Husband, Father and Friend. (Note: Frank purchased the stone long in advance, and he told me that the "father" part was a mistake.)
