Charles August “Charlie” Petri, 88, of Odem, Texas, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014. He was born March 29, 1926 in Rutledge, Texas to Arthur John and Ethel Magdaline Schmidt Petri.
He graduated from Robstown High School, and Texas A & I University in Kingsville in 1951. Charlie was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and received the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal. He retired from Suntide (Koch) Refinery and was a Commander of the Disabled American Veterans organization.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Cleta Mae Hale Petri; his daughter, Sandra Kay Dodd; his brother, Francis G. Petri; and his sister, Hazel Waller.
Burial with full military honors will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Odem, Texas.
