Youth Meets Tragic Death

Vaino G. Linjatie 13-year old son of John Linjaetie, a farmer living near the Percy Hodgskiss place about 18 miles southwest of Choteau, was killed in a gruesome accident at 10:30 yesterday forenoon. The lad and his father were plowing in the field, when for some reason one of the horses in the string he was driving commenced kicking and a runaway followed. The boy was thrown from his seat and into the wheel and other mechanism of the plow, frightfully mangling and lacerating him. The father witnessed the appalling scene but was helpless to render assistance.

Vaino was born May 27, 1915, and is survived by two other brothers and sisters. Mr. and Mrs. Linjatie are Finlanders and settled in Teton county in 1913.

Coroner Conner and assistant, Arthur Bateman, were notified and motored to the scene of the tragedy. The body was brought to the city in the late afternoon and prepared for burial, the funeral service will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Methodist church.
