Bemon S. Adkins, 84, of Vidor passed away Sunday at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

A native of San Augustine County, Texas he resided in Vidor for 51 years.

He was a retired construction worker and served his country during WW II in the U.S. Army.

Bemon was preceded in death by his son Lloyd Sheldon Adkins.

He was survived by his wife V Ettress Adkins, sons: Benny Adkins and his wife Linda, Charles Adkins and his wife Renee, daughter: Lynda Adkins, daughter-in-law: Debra Adkins, brother: C.T. "Speedy" Adkins, Carol Gene Adkins, sisters: Lura Mae Evans, Dorothy Chambers, 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Williamson Cemetery in Vidor.
