Floy M. Basey, 83, formerly of 609 Morris Ave., Shelbyville, Ind., died Saturday, April 18, 1992 at 10:10 p.m. in the Waldron Health Care Center.

She was born Aug. 1, 1908 in Shelbyville, Ind., the daughter of Herman A. and Myrtle Woodward Leffler. She was a lifelong resident of Shelbyville and a member of the St. Paul Christian Church.

She married Herman Basey in February of 1937,and he preceded her in death Oct. 16, 1985.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Melvin (Wilma) Kuntz, of Palmetto, Fla.; a son, William H. Nichols, Clinton, Ill.; a stepson, Joe Basey, Shelbyville, Ind.; a stepdaughter, Frances M. Wolfe, Longmont, Colo.; three brothers, Ray Leffler, Shelbyville, Edgar Leffler of Indianapolis and Woody Leffler, Wabash, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Joseph (Helen) Moffard, Marion, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five grandchildren.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Murphy Funeral Home, Shelbyville, Ind.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Shelby County.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
