Ruth A. LaFisca, 88, of Worthington, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, at home. Born March 16, 1926, in Keisterville, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Ida (Woodward) Franks. Ruth was a loving homemaker. She was a member of First Church of God, in Kittanning, where she was a member of WCG, and a member of the women's auxiliary of the Worthington American Legion. She enjoyed flower gardening, collecting dolls and quilts and camping. Also, she loved to cook and spend time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Michael L. LaFisca, of Worthington; son, Michael F. LaFisca, and daughter-in-law, Fay LaFisca, of Shreveport, La.; son, William C. LaFisca, and daughter-in-law, Rebecca LaFisca, of Butler; daughter, Joyce A. Schrecengost, and son-in-law, Jay Schrecengost, of Kittanning; and daughter, Marcia Jackson, and son-in-law, David Jackson, of Kittanning; grandchildren, Curtis (Tami) LaFisca, Jason (Michelle) Schrecengost, Tony, Mathew and Timothy LaFisca, Jacey (Jacob) Hollobaugh, Jacob (Haley) Schrecengost, Terra Baum, Tyler Baum, Laura (Mark) Martinka, Heather Jackson, Kelly (John Michael) Toney and Hillary Jackson; great-grandchildren, Emma, Tanner, Elizabeth, Olivia, Dakota, Hayden, Lydia, Meadow, Ella, Devyn, Camerin and Taylor, and two on the way; brothers, Jim and John; and sisters, Gwendolyn, Marylin and Earlene. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by granddaughter, Angela LaFisca; several brothers; and a sister. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, in Worthington, and from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Church of God, in Kittanning, with the Rev. Nick Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates. Contributions in Ruth's memory may be made to First Church of God, Nursery Fund, 629 Woodward Ave., Kittanning, PA 16201.
