Death of Roy Thomas.
Roy Winfield Thomas, son of the late Harvey Thomas and Mrs. Thomas, died yesterday morning at his home in the Cottonwood neighborhood, six miles west of town after an illness which had confined him to bed since May. Funeral services, to be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, will be in charge of the Odd Fellows, and will be conducted by Rev. Koontz, of the Methodist Church of Saffordville. The Plymouth choir will sing. Interment will be at Maplewood.
The accident which caused Mr. Thomas's death occurred on May 4. That day he descended a well about thirty feet to see if water had been found. A clod of earth, formed by a cave-in at the top, fell, striking him, caused paralysis. An operation in August brought no permanent relief.
Mr. Thomas was born in Lyon County, December 7, 1875, and always had lived in this neighborhood. He married Edith Pritchard, Dec. 5, 1905. Mrs. Thomas, two sons, Joseph and Ross, aged 9 ad 6 years, respectively, two sisters, Mrs. S.N. Parker and Miss Laura Thomas, a brother, Logan, and his mother, survive.
Mr. Thomas was for many years a member of the Grace Methodist Church, and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
