Lived in Leeds, Scotland for about 20 years before coming to America in1906 through Ellis Island in New York.
Had epilepsy, probably as a result of a mine accident in Scotland.
Adam worked as a coal miner in both Scotland and PA.

Purchased first home in America from Frank and Annie Gecas (his brother) in the village of Inkerman, PA. Deed was recorded Sept 25, 1912 in Luzerne County by E B Hartman. Purchase price of house was $1725.00.

Gecas family place for last 200 years was at the north of Lithuania on the border with Latvia.
