On Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015, Betty L. Suhr, 82, left this world and joined her husband to rest in eternal peace. She passed away at Bethel Home and Services of Viroqua.


On Sept. 18, 1932, Betty was born to Jay and Sylvia (Wallace) Clark in the town of Clinton, Wis. On Sept. 14, 1949, she married Robert Suhr. They had over 57 years together before he passed away in 2007. Betty was a wonderful homemaker who loved caring for her family. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She sold Studio Girl Products for many years. Betty was an active member of the Sugar Grove Homemakers, where they created beautiful quilts. She enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers, oil lamps and cookie jars.


Betty is survived by her four sons, Steven (Cheryl) Suhr of Janesville, Charles "Chuck" (Susan) Suhr of Westby, David (Linda) Suhr of Cashton and Jimmie Suhr of Milwaukee; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, Cory (Amanda Rundle) Suhr of Janesville and kids Bailey (Bailey's daughter McKenna) and Morgan; Kevin Suhr of Janesville and kids, MaKenzie and Madyson; Stacy (Scott) Volden of Monroe Center, Ill., and kids Scotty and Sam; Tonya (Pat) Buchanan of Cottage Grove, Wis., and kids, Hunter and Tyler Sime, and Taylor Buchanan; and Bobbie Jo (Brian Bush) Suhr of Coon Valley, and kids, Caden and Carlie Haakenson; three sisters-in-law, Bernice Suhr of Cashton, Edith Wallace of Viroqua and Ada Peterson of Mauston; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


A special thank-you to Rosella (Rosie) Evenson and Laure Wallace for the loving care they gave Betty, helping her everyday so she could stay in her own home as long as she possibly could.


Betty was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers, Verlin (Bulah) Clark, Orville (Helen) Clark and Garland (Arlene) Clark; and a sister, Bonnie (Mike) Fish.


Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, at the Viroqua Church of Christ, Viroqua. Pastor Jeff Coon officiated. Burial followed in the Viroqua Cemetery. Family and friends were invited for visitation Monday morning until the time of service at the church. The Torkelson Funeral Home of Cashton assisted the family with arrangements.
