57. Edward Frederick LA MORE (farmer), born 4 Aug 1865 at Moline, Rock Is Co, IL; died 4 Apr 1932 at Reedley, Kings Co, CA; buried Reedley Cemetery.
Died of apoplexy (stroke). Edward Frederick LA MORE married Nellie Bly KOLB (the daughter of Jasper T. KOLB and Maria KNIGHT) 6 Jan 1912 at Hanford, CA (Kolb family bible); born 16 Aug 1874 at Lafayette, IN; died 4 Aug 1946; buried in Reedley Cemetery.
Fred, as he was known, emigrated from Illinois to California around 1910. The other members of his family remained in Illinois. In the Reedley/Dinuba area of California's Central Valley (near Fresno), he bought a farm and began a new family. Both Fred and his bride Nellie married relatively late in life. She had been living with her parents, Jasper and Maria Kolb, and working as a practical nurse. They began to farm in Reedley, California. They built a craftsman-style house that still stands on the property, which is now planted with fruit trees, at 5351 Avenue 424. Their children were raised in this house and Nellie continued to live there and manage the farm after Fred's death. She made a good profit during the Depression, managing the farm efficiently and well. Her brothers and parents farmed nearby. Nellie died of cancer in 1943, nursed by her daughter Hazel, whose husband was away at the front.

They had the following children:

+ 66 i Helen Grace LA MORE.
+ 67 ii Hazel June LA MORE.

58. Lucy Jane LA MORE, born 12 Jul 1859 (L family bible); died 27 Jan 1945 (L family bible). Lucy Jane LA MORE married William S. MILLER 8 Jun 1858. They had the following children:

68 i Corinne MILLER.
+ 69 ii Llewellyn MILLER.

59. Emma Lillian LA MORE, born 29 Jan 1861 (also listed as Lillian Emma); died 31 Dec 1894. Emma Lillian LA MORE married John VINCENT 25 Dec 1882
(handwritten document re marriages of RPL children); born 2 Apr 1840; died c. 1927.
They had the following children:

70 i Charles VINCENT.
+ 71 ii Bessie Louise VINCENT.
+ 72 iii Emma VINCENT.
73 iv Pauline VINCENT, died c. 1972.

60. Maria Louise LA MORE, born 14 May 1862 (also listed as Louise Maria La More); died c. 1950. Maria Louise LA MORE married Robert S. MC CONNELL 18 Aug 1886. They had the following children:

74 i Cyril MC CONNELL.
+ 75 ii Elsie MC CONNELL.
+ 76 iii Earl MC CONNELL.

62. Mary Luetta LA MORE, born 29 Sep 1869; died 12 Mar 1929. Mary Luetta LA MORE married William S. BAKER 10 Aug 1888. They had the following children:

+ 81 iii Robert Edwin TALLEY.
+ 82 iv Wilbur Allen TALLEY.
+ 83 v Lucy Alice TALLEY.
+ 84 vi John La More TALLEY.

65. Ethel Almira LA MORE, born 29 Aug 1877; died 19 Jan 1965. Ethel Almira LA MORE married Walter P. HUBBELL 12 Sep 1908; died c. 1935.

49. Henry ARCULARIUS, born 1842 at Illinois (1850 Census, Hampton Twp); died c. 1865. Civil war records indicate that a Henry Arcularius of New York was
killed at the Battle of Spotsylvania, Virginia. Since family legend has it that he died at the battle of Chickamauga - but no record exists of his participation in this battle - perhaps the Spotsylvania record is correct. Henry Arcularius's parents, who
lived in Brooklyn, NY, were originally from Germany.

50. Lucius ARCULARIUS, born 1838 (1850 Census - Hampton Twp). Family legend says that Lucius went out to California for the Gold Rush in the late 1840s, wrote home saying that he had found gold, and was never heard from again.
However, since he was born in 1838 according to the 1850 Census (living in Hampton CO), it's unlikely. Or he'd have to have gone around the mid-1850s, pretty late in the game.
