James O'rlandor Coffey
(18 Mar 1879 - 1 May 1956)

James Orlandor Coffey, a man of strength, Born on March 18, 1879, at great length. To Colby and Sarah, his parents dear, In Rockcastle County, he first did appear.

At the tender age of seventeen, He wed Orlena Jane, his beloved queen. Their union blessed with children eight, Their love and bond would forever resonate.

On Sycamore Creek, a farm they acquired, Where they toiled and their dreams aspired. Cattle and sheep they herded with care, And the art of spinning wool they did share.

A tragic fire consumed their home, But they rebuilt, no longer to roam. They settled in Grainger County's embrace, Creating memories in a new dwelling place.

A blacksmith by trade, he worked with fire, Molding iron with passion and desire. From horseshoes strong to gates ornate, His craftsmanship became his noble fate.

Through Claiborne County, they later roamed, In Springdale, with loved ones, they found a home. Their daughter Else's embrace they sought, And a new church's foundation they brought.

With each passing year, his family grew, The love within their hearts ever true. With strength and determination, he led, Guiding his children as they tread.

And on May 1, 1956, his time drew nigh, As James Orlander Coffey said his goodbye. At Middlesboro Hospital, he found his rest, His soul at peace, forever blessed.

In Fairview Memorial Cemetery's hallowed ground,
His earthly remains now forever found.

His legacy lives on in hearts and minds,
A testament to the love he leaves behind his beloved Orlena Jane, step sister, Kate McGinnis, and step brother, Paul Coffey and four sons - General, Emmet, Paris, Carson and four daughters – Lillie, Else, Ella and Mary Delta, their families and friends.

We bid farewell to this remarkable soul, Whose spirit soared and left us whole. Coffey Funeral Home now takes the lead, As we celebrate a life of noble deed.
