Funeral services for Mr. Luther Pannell, 35, of Claremont, were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the Claremont Lutheran church conducted by the pastor, Rev. R. B. Sigmon, assisted by Rev. Mr. Ellis, pastor of the Maiden Lutheran church. Interment was made at Claremont.
Mr. Pannell, who was a young truck driver employed by a Gastonia hauling firm, was killed instantly when the truck he was driving and a another truck collided in Wilmington, Del., Saturday. A companion, Ernest Gantt, 22, of Claremont, escaped with minor scratches.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Colman Pannell of Richmond, Va., by his wife, the former Miss Annie Sigmon, of Maiden, and the following brothers and sisters: Edgar and Wayne Pannell, of Richmond, Va., Mrs. George Goforth and Mrs. Clyde Jones of Shelby, and Mrs. Dykes of Rutherford county, and Mrs. Ed. Wilson and Mrs. Leiter Siagle of Bakersville.
