Emily "Emma" was born August 11, 1854 [or 1855] in England, to Thomas and Violet Ann Owen Yates. Emma was forced to marry polygamist, William Kay, when she was 14 years old (about 1868). She had twins, Thomas "Tom" William Kay and Violet Emily Kay, with William before she was allowed out of the marriage. In about 1874, Emma then married Peter Boyce in Provo, Utah. He raised Tom and Violet as his own. They had at least four more children together: George Lawrence, Peter III, Margaret "Maggie", and Isaac "Ike" Boyce. Emily Elizabeth Violet "Emma" Yates Kay Boyce passed from this life August 5, 1926, in Provo, Utah.
