Caroline Holl, 93, 518 Franklin St., Russell, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, in Russell City Hosptial. She was born in Russell Co. on April 21, 1894, and moved into Russell from the farm in 1943. She married Levi L. Holl on May 31, 1916, in Russell. He died on Nov. 15, 1972. Her parents were George J. and Katharina (Reinhardt) Dumler. She was a housewife and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors are: two daughters, Mrs. Leland (Francis) Nuss, Russell; and Mrs. Dean (Betty) Popp, Lakewood, CO; one brother, George Jacob Dumler, Salina; seven grandchildren; and two gt. grandchildren.

Caroline Holl, daughter of George Jacob and Katharina (Reinhardt) Dumler, was born in Russell Co., Big Creek Community on April 21, 1894. Her death occurred on Oct. 27, 1987 in Russell City Hospital, at the age of 93 years, 6 months, and 6 days.
Caroline lived her early life in the Big Creek Community, received her basic education in the Mt. Brokaw School of that area, and on May 31, 1916, was united in marriage to Levi Leon Holl in Russell, KS. this union was blessed with three children: Ottomer, Frances, and Betty.
Her life was filled with the many and varied activities of a farm housewife, homemaker, and mother. She continued to make her home on the farm as her children were raised, moving into Russell from the farm in 1943, but maintained her interest in the family farm even after moving to Russell.
She was able to remain in her home after the death of her husband Levi on Nov. 15, 1972. She enjoyed her home and looked forward to being able to return home from the hospital.
Caroline was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the UMW, Friendship Circle, both of Russell.
Those who preceded her in death were her parents; husband, Levi; son, Ottomer who died Feb. 23, 1966; fours sisters: Amelia Karst, Pauline Krug, Lydia Krug, and infant sister Alma; and four brothers: Robert, Benjamin, Herman (aka Harry); and Herbert Dumler.
Survivors are: two daughters, Mrs. Leland (Francis) Nuss, rural Russell; and Mrs. Dean (Betty) Popp, Lakewood, CO; daughter-in-law Beth Holl of Gt. Bend; seven grandchildren; and two gt. grandchildren; one brother, George Jacob Dumler, Salina; several other relatives and a host of friends.
