Edward K. Strecker

BIH HORN, MT. ----- Edward K. Strecker, 86, of Big Horn, formerly of Hardin, died March 9, 2004, at Eagle Cliff Manor in Billings.

He was born at Home Nov. 15, 1917, in Mitchell, NE. and attended school there.

It was in that area that he met the love of his life, Irene Relka.

He moved with his family to the Hardin area when the Holly Sugar Corp. opened the area to sugar beet farming and on Dec. 2, 1940, married his beloved Irene.
Mrs. Strecker died in 1993.

They made their home north of Hardin and it was there that they raised their family, which included, Edward G. 9Alyce), Jake, John (Cindy) Strecker, all of Big Horn, MT.,
Judy (Duane) Schaak of Hysham, and David (Kathy) Strecker of Billings.

They moved to Big Horn in 1977, where he achieved his lifelong dream of farming with
his entire family.

He made sure the kitchen table was always big enough and the coffee pot was always on.

Gramps was a unique man. from the way he waved as he drove by in his pickup to his philosophies on life and way with words.

He was fortunate enough to spend his life surrounded every day by the things he loved the most -- his family and his farm.
It comforts us to know that Gramps and Gramma are together again.

Edward was a former member of Hardin Kiwanis, Odd Fellows and Elks Club.

he had been a member of the Christ E & R Church of Hardin, but more recently attended the Custer Congregational Church.

In addition to his children, he is survived by two sisters, Frieda Keller of Worland, WY., and Marie Clause of Worden, MTR.; 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

We wish to extend our sincere thanks to the staff of Eagle Cliff Manor for their care and compassion during his stay.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 12, at the Custer Congregational Church.

Interment will follow in the Custer Cemetery, Custer, MT.

Bullis Mortuary of Hardin has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Custer Congregational Church memorial fund.
