Taylor McKim was the son of Alfred Wayne McKim and Margaret P. (Taylor). He was called "General" by all who knew him and "Uncle General" by his nieces and nephews. He married Elizabeth Walker and had one known daughter named Lucy Almina (Fisher) born Sept. 23, 1872 in Ottumwa, IA. and a son named Perry Oscar born in 1883. Before Elizabeth's death in 1885, Perry was adopted out to his aunt and uncle Joseph Holt Walker and Maria Emma Smith. His name was changed to Perry Austin Walker. Taylor then married Rachel Anna Swartz on Sept. 6, 1904 in Worth Co., MO. She was the daughter of Wilson Kirby and Eliza Swartz.

General was married three times, but only two marriages are on record at this time. He was a well digger and a traveling violinist. He was described as having blues eyes and black hair. His niece Velma Jane (McKim) Johnson remembers he was a favorite uncle who would bring the kids candy when he visited. General died of a heart attack and is buried with various other family members.
