Racheal was the daughter of Wilson Kirby and Eliza Ann Swartz. She married Charles Davis in 1881, Taylor McKim in 1904, and August Ahrweiler in 1927. She died in her home in Unionville, IA. and is buried in the Unionville Cemetery.Rachel Anna Swartz was born August 11, 1861, in Jasper county, Illinois, (daughter of Wilson Kirby and Eliza Ann Swartz) and departed this life August 25, 1931, at the age of seventy years and fourteen days, at her home near Unionville, Iowa. She came with her parents to Moulton, Appanoose county, Iowa, when a small child and then moved to Allendale, Worth county, Mo., when about 14 years of age.
She was married to Charles Davis in 1881, and to Taylor McKim in 1904. In 1927 she was married to August Ahrweiler and moved to their present home where she spent her remaining days.
She united with the Baptist church in 1892 and lived a faithful christian life up until the time of her death. She was kind hearted and a friend to all, a great lover of nature and flowers.
She leaves to mourn her departure her kind, loving husband, who was so faithful to the end; also three sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Davis of Allendale, Mo., Mrs. Mary Kidney and Mrs. Gene Ewing of Grant City, Mo., three brothers, W. C. Swarts, of Cement, Okla., F. E. Swarts, of Carnegie, Okla., S. W. Swarts, Redding, Calif. Two sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
She was tenderly cared for in her last sickness by her husband who did everything that loving hands could do to relieve her suffering.
Funeral services were conducted from the Unionville M. E. church, Wednesday afternoon, August 26th, Rev. R. C. Rowe officiating. Interment was made in the Unionville cemetery.
